Career Video Suprises

There really wasn't a lot that I didn't already know while watching the Health Science videos. I knew about having to work long hours and I knew that you can get very stressed while working in the Health Science field. Something I didn't really know before was that you will be touching sick people a lot. I'm fine with touching sick patients though. The videos also went more into detail about some of the things that I will deal with as a nurse. Other than that there wasn't much I didn't already know.

Employment

I already had my career picked out, so my work ethics quiz did not guide me toward any career. My career cluster was Health Science and I wanted to be a pediatrician; however, last minute I decided to change my job to pediatric nurse. I'm still not sure if I want to go into pediatric psychology. I know I want to work in the pediatric field though. The main selling point to going into pediatrics is knowing that I will be helping children. I've always wanted to work with kids and I love helping them. I decided on going to University of Michigan. I've wanted to go to UofM since I was very young, and I love the Wolverines. Also, Ann Arbor is only a short 45mins away. I don't want to go somewhere far, I want to be close to home. I do honestly see myself going to college to become a pediatric nurse, or a pediatric psychologist.

Children's Book Project

My favorite part of the project was getting all of the pictures for the movie. My favorite part about my movie was the pictures that I used during the video. The most challenging part was meeting all of the requirements for the movie. If I could change something about my video, I would probably make the pictures better, and add words. I liked the project overall. It was a difficult project, but I learned a lot and I really liked turning a book I love into a movie.

In 10 Years...

In ten years, I hope to be attending the University of Michigan to become a pediatrician or child's psychiatrist. I love little kids and making a differance in their lives. I hope that in my career that I will be working with children who need help and guidance. While in college I hope that I will still be playing tennis. I would also like to possibly help coach a tennis team for children or teens. By the age of 26 I hope that I will be done with my schooling and will start working toward my career.
After I finish my schooling and start my career, I hope that I am married and start having a family. I want to have a large wedding because I have a huge family and I want everyone to be there. By the age of 26 or 27 I would like to have my first child. I would idealy like to have 4 kids. I see myself living in a small subdivision with my family, where my kids can play and have friends. I can also see myself driving a cute little SUV and being a soccer mom. I want to be involved in my children's lives. I would also like to have two dogs. I hope to have a strong family and have a great career.
